Fourth-year civil engineering major Samantha "Sam" Rowell with the help of other SEAS students, and with guidance from Professor Jim Smith and a CEE alumnus, is developing a design for a water filtration and distribution system for a community in Cameroon. The effort is featured in a UVA Today news story entitled, "SEAS Students and Serendipity Work to Bring Water to Wum ":
